Attachment Style Test — Privacy Policy

1. Who this policy covers

This Privacy Policy applies to the "Attachment Style Test" Chrome extension (the "Extension"), developed as a self-reflection tool that lets you take a 32-item attachment style questionnaire from Chrome's side panel and view your results and history.

2. Data we collect

The Extension does not collect any data on any external server. It does not use cookies, web beacons, fingerprinting, or any remote analytics service.

The only information the Extension stores is data you generate by using it:

• Your answers to the test questions (as numeric values, 1–7)
• Your computed Anxiety and Avoidance scores and resulting attachment style
• The date and time each test was completed

This information is stored locally using the standard chrome.storage.local API provided by the Chrome Extensions platform. It is saved only on your own device and is never transmitted anywhere — not to the developer, not to any third party, and not to any cloud service.

3. How your data is used

Locally stored results are used solely to:

• Show you your test result immediately after finishing the questionnaire
• Let you view, revisit, or delete past results in the History screen
• Let you track how your results change if you retake the test over time

Your data is never used for advertising, profiling, resale, or any purpose other than displaying it back to you within the Extension itself.

4. Data sharing

We do not share, sell, rent, or otherwise disclose your data to any third party, because the data never leaves your device in the first place. The Extension makes no network requests to any server operated by the developer or anyone else.

5. Permissions used

Permission	Why it's needed

sidePanel	Allows the Extension's interface to open inside Chrome's native side panel instead of a popup or a new tab.

The Extension requests no host permissions and cannot read or modify the content of any web page you visit.

6. Data retention and deletion

Your results remain stored locally until you delete them yourself. You can:

• Delete an individual result from the History screen
• Clear all saved results at once using "Clear all" in the History screen
• Remove all data automatically by uninstalling the Extension, which erases its local storage along with it

7. Children's privacy

The Extension is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children, since it does not collect information at all outside of local, on-device storage.

8. Not a medical or clinical tool

The Attachment Style Test is provided for self-reflection and educational purposes only. It is not a clinical diagnostic instrument and is not a substitute for advice from a licensed therapist, counselor, or other qualified professional.

9. Changes to this policy

If this policy is ever updated, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change accordingly. Continued use of the Extension after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
