This Privacy Policy explains how the Inglés mobile application (“the App”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you use it. The App teaches English to Spanish-speaking learners. We built it to be as privacy-friendly as possible: there is no account, no sign-up, and no backend server of ours that your learning data is sent to. Please read this policy alongside the information provided by our advertising partner, Google AdMob, linked below.
1.Information We Do Not Collect
The App does not require registration and does not collect or transmit to us:
- Your name, email address, or any other contact information
- Your precise location
- Photos, contacts, or files from your device
- Any account credentials (there is no account system)
2.Information Stored Locally On Your Device
Your learning progress — completed lessons, quiz scores, XP, streak, spaced-repetition review schedule, and your notification preferences — is stored only on your device, using Android's local storage (SharedPreferences). This data:
- Never leaves your device or is transmitted to us
- Is not linked to your identity
- Is deleted automatically if you uninstall the App, or manually via the in-app “Reset progress” button
3.Advertising (Google AdMob)
The App displays banner and interstitial advertisements served by Google AdMob. To deliver and measure ads, Google's Mobile Ads SDK may collect and process technical information such as your advertising ID, device identifiers, IP address, general location (derived from IP), app usage and interaction data, and information used for fraud prevention and ad performance measurement.
How to control ad personalization
You can manage ad personalization for your device in your Google Account settings, or opt out of personalized advertising through your device's system settings (Settings → Privacy → Ads on most Android versions).
Google acts as an independent data controller for the information it collects through AdMob. We do not control how Google processes this data. For full details, please review:

4.Notifications
If you enable the optional daily study reminder, the App schedules a local notification directly on your device using Android's built-in alarm and notification system. This does not involve any push-notification server, and no data about your reminder settings is sent anywhere outside your device. You can disable reminders at any time from the App's Settings screen or your device's system notification settings.
5.Text-to-Speech
Listening exercises use your device's built-in Android Text-to-Speech engine (typically provided by Google or your device manufacturer) to read English phrases aloud. This processing happens locally through the system TTS engine already installed on your device; the App does not send phrase text to any external speech service of its own.
6.Children's Privacy
The App is a general-audience language-learning tool and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us using the details below so we can address it.
7.Data Retention & Deletion
Since all learning data lives only on your device, you are always in full control of it. You can delete it at any time by using the “Reset progress” option inside the App, or by uninstalling the App entirely, which removes all locally stored data immediately.
8.Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the App, but no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. Because the App does not operate a server or collect personal data from you directly, the primary security surface is your own device — we recommend keeping your device's operating system and Google Play Services up to date.
9.Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example to reflect changes in the App's features or in applicable law. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
10.Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights under applicable data protection law (such as the GDPR in the EEA/UK or the CCPA in California) regarding personal data processed on Google's behalf via AdMob, including the right to access, delete, or object to certain processing. Because that processing is carried out by Google as an independent controller, such requests are best directed to Google via the links in Section 3, or you may contact us and we will assist where we are able to.
