Privacy Policy — Big Five (OCEAN) Personality Test

We do not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data.

All test answers and results stay locally on your device.

The extension makes no network requests and uses no analytics, ads, or trackers.

1. Overview

"Big Five (OCEAN) Personality Test" (the "Extension") is a Chrome side-panel extension that lets you take a 50-item personality assessment and view your results. This Privacy Policy explains what information the Extension handles, how it is stored, and what it is used for.

2. Information We Collect

The Extension does not collect any personal information, and nothing you enter is sent to us, to the developer, or to any third party. Specifically:

No account, sign-up, or personal identifiers (name, email, IP address) are requested or collected.
No usage analytics, telemetry, or crash reporting is embedded in the Extension.
No advertising or marketing SDKs are included.
The Extension does not read, modify, or have access to the content of any web page you visit.

3. Data Stored Locally on Your Device

To let you take the test, resume an in-progress session, and review past results, the Extension stores the following data using the browser's built-in chrome.storage.local API:

Your in-progress question answers	Lets you resume the test later without losing progress
Saved trait scores (Openness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness, Neuroticism) and the date they were computed	Lets you view your result history over time

This data is stored only on your local device, inside your Chrome browser profile. It is never transmitted over the network, never synced to any external server operated by us, and is not accessible to the developer. If you use Chrome's built-in bookmark/extension sync feature, this data may sync across your own devices via your Google account — that sync is handled entirely by Google/Chrome, not by us.

4. How to Delete Your Data

You can remove all stored data at any time by:

Using the "Delete" option next to any saved result in the Extension's History screen, or
Uninstalling the Extension, which automatically erases all of its locally stored data, or
Clearing site/extension data for the Extension via chrome://extensions → Details → "Clear data" (if available on your Chrome version).

5. Permissions Used

Permission	Why it's needed
`storage`	To save your answers and results locally on your device, as described above.
`sidePanel`	To display the test and results inside Chrome's native side panel UI.

The Extension requests no host permissions and cannot read or interact with the content of any website.

6. Third-Party Sharing

We do not share, sell, rent, or trade any data with third parties, because no data ever leaves your device in the first place.

7. Children's Privacy

The Extension is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children, since no data collection takes place at all.

8. Changes to This Policy

If this Privacy Policy is updated, the revised version will be posted at this same location with a new effective date. Continued use of the Extension after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
