Young's Internet Addiction Test — Chrome Extension

Last updated: July 22, 2026

🔒Summary

This extension does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. It has no server, no analytics, and no third-party network requests. Every piece of information the extension handles — your test answers, your score history, and your language preference — stays on your own device, stored locally by Chrome's built-in storage API.

No data collection No servers No analytics or trackers No ads Works fully offline

📦What data is stored, and where

The extension uses the chrome.storage.local API, which keeps data only on your device — it is never uploaded anywhere.

Your individual question-by-question answers are used only to calculate your score in the moment and are not stored after the test is finished — only the final result is saved.

🚫What we do not do

🗑️Deleting your data

You can delete any single saved result using the delete (✕) button next to it, or clear your entire history at once using the "Clear History" button on the home screen. Uninstalling the extension also permanently removes all locally stored data, since it lives inside Chrome's storage for this extension only.

🧩Permissions used

No host permissions or access to web page content are requested.

⚕️Not medical advice

This extension implements Kimberly Young's Internet Addiction Test for self-reflection purposes only. It is not a diagnostic tool and does not constitute medical or psychological advice. If you have concerns about your internet use, please consult a qualified professional.
